From a family of Champions Trainers and Jockeys
Dante comes from a family of champion horsemen. His grandfather, Juan Suárez, trained 11 Classic winners, that captured 9 Derby`s and a total of 21 Classics in South America. His father, Dante Sr., trains a select group of horses and have had more than 20 Graded Stakes Winners. His uncle, Juan V. Suárez, have been the leading trainer in Perú for 19 straight years and has trained a number of Graded Stakes Winners. His other uncle, Fernando Toro, widely known as "Toro the Bull" was a great jockey in South America and North America. Riding primary in Southern California he was considered the best Turf rider of his time. Another of his uncles, Jose Valdivia Sr., was a leading jockey and later became a successful trainer. And first cousin, Jose A. Valdivia Jr., rose to prominence when he guided Val Royal to an exciting Breeders` Cup victory in the 2001 BC Mile.
